Weather: High -1 C, chance of flurries and a colder Monday

Happy Boxing Day to all, and it should be a bit less slippery than Christmas Day’s freezing rain/drizzle mix.

For Sunday, Environment and Climate Change Canada’s weather office is predicting cloudy skies with a 30 per cent chance of flurries. Fog patches will dissipate early this morning, with winds becoming northwest 20 km/h near noon.

The high should reach -1 C, with the wind chill of -3 this morning becoming -9 this afternoon.

Clouds will continue into the evening, then clear near midnight. Wind northwest 20 km/h becoming light before morning, with an overnight low of -15 C. Wind chill -9 this evening and -20 overnight.

For Monday, they’re predicting sunny skies early in the morning then a mix of sun and cloud with periods of light snow beginning late in the afternoon.

Wind will reach 15 km/h, with a high of -8 C. Wind chill -19 in the morning and -12 in the afternoon. UV index 1 or low.

So far, the rest of the week is looking fairly mild with highs around -1, some sun and a chance of flurries.

The normal high for this date is -4.9 C and low is -13.9.
