Vulnerable Democrat Holds Onto House Seat, Keeping GOP Majority Slim

Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D-Ohio) will maintain control of a U.S. House of Representatives seat, according to results certified on Nov. 20.
Kaptur, 78, was widely viewed as a vulnerable candidate and her seat, held since 1983, was targeted by Republicans who were keen to flip an extra seat.
Kaptur received 48.3 percent of the vote, compared to the 47.6 percent received by state Rep. Derek Merrin, a Republican. Libertarian candidate Tom Pruss received 4 percent. Many of the votes were certified by the Lucas County Board of Elections on Wednesday. Kaptur received 109,693 votes in the county, compared to Merrin’s 72,592, according to the certified count, obtained by The Epoch Times….
