Burn-Injury Risk Leads Health Canada to Expand Oster Toaster Oven Recall

Health Canada is expanding a previous recall of Oster toaster ovens due to the risk of burn injuries from oven doors that can shut unexpectedly.
The health agency updated its recall on Dec. 8 to include model TSSTTVFDDG-033 of the Oster French door countertop oven. This expands a recall first issued on Sept. 25 that covered models TSSTTVFDXL, TSSTTVFDDGDS, TSSTTVFDXLPP-033, and TSSTTVFDDAF-033. Model numbers can be found on the back of the oven.
The action follows 95 consumer reports in the United States of oven doors closing unexpectedly, with 93 consumers experiencing minor burns and two reporting second-degree burns. The company says no injuries or incidents have been reported in Canada as of Dec. 4….
