Trump Hosts Britain’s Keir Starmer; Senate Confirmation Hearings for CFPB, CEA Nominees

President Donald Trump and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer meet at the White House on Thursday. Starmer is the second European leader to meet Trump this week following French President Emmanuel Macron.
Several of Trump’s economic picks are due to face questions at a Senate confirmation hearing. Jonathan McKernan, nominated to lead the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, will testify before the Senate Banking Committee on his selection. Alongside McKernan, the panel will also consider the nomination of Bill Pulte as head of the Federal Housing Finance Agency.
