It has been a good run of classical concerts for the Calgary Philharmonic lately. Going back only slightly, there was the exceptional performance of the Verdi Requiem conducted by resident conductor Karen Kamensek, with a fine performance by the Calgary Philharmonic Chorus. After that, there was the sold-out concert of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, and then a memorable showing of Holst’s The Planets conducted by Naomi Woo, with the Edmonton Symphony along for the ride.
