New Brunswickers Head to the Polls to Elect Next Government

New Brunswick residents will cast their votes today following a month-long campaign that has evolved into a close contest between Susan Holt’s Liberal Party and the Progressive Conservatives, headed by Blaine Higgs.
Voters can cast their ballots until 8 p.m. to help decide which party will form the next government.
Higgs is seeking a third consecutive term as premier. If he wins, he will become the first to accomplish this feat since Liberal Premier Frank McKenna in 1995.
Support between the two main parties has been close but the Liberals have edged ahead in recent weeks. The latest poll from 338Canada suggests the Liberals now have a 73 percent chance of winning the most seats and a 68 percent chance of winning a majority government….
