Canada’s Job Vacancies Fall for 9th Consecutive Quarter: StatCan

Job vacancies in Canada further shrank in the third quarter of this year, marking a ninth consecutive decline since peaking in the summer of 2022, according data published by Statistics Canada.
A total of 546,075 job vacancies were reported in the third quarter of this year, which is a 5.5 percent decline from the 577,970 vacancies in the second quarter, according to data released by StatCan on Dec. 16.
The StatCan data was followed by a report from the employment department, which noted that Canada’s economy experienced slower growth in the past year, influenced by factors such as high inflation, global supply chain disruptions, and the impact of 1.3 million new permanent and temporary immigrants on the job market….
