President-elect Donald Trump is nominating an ally and member of his first administration as his deputy secretary of the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
On Dec. 4, in a statement posted to his Truth Social account, Trump said he is nominating Michael Faulkender as Scott Bessent’s deputy. Bessent was appointed to lead the U.S. Department of the Treasury on Nov. 22, pending Senate confirmation.
“He will help [Bessent] usher in a new Golden Age for the United States by delivering a Great Economic Boom for all Americans,” Trump said in his statement.
