President Joe Biden awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom to 19 individuals in a ceremony at the White House on Jan. 4, with list of recipients including famous actors, musicians, athletes, scientists, entrepreneurs, and political leaders.
“For the final time as president, I have the honor of bestowing the Medal of Freedom—our nation’s highest civilian honor—on a group of extraordinary, truly extraordinary people,” Biden said during the ceremony, praising them for their “sacred effort to shape the culture and the cause of America.”
Earlier, the White House released the list of recipients, describing them as “great leaders who have made America and the world a better place” and whose various contributions to significant societal, public, or private endeavors has been “exemplary.”…
