An international operation has brought down the infrastructure of online cybercrime marketplaces that affected millions of American citizens, according to a recent report from the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ).
The crackdown on cybercrime marketplaces “Cracked” and “Nulled” was part of a multinational operation involving the United States, Romania, Australia, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, and Greece, said a Jan. 30 statement from the agency. Cracked sold tools for carrying out cybercrime and fraud, including hacking apps, stolen login credentials, and servers used to host malware and stolen data, the DOJ said.
