New Brush Fire in San Diego Community Causes Evacuations

SAN DIEGO—A brush fire threatened homes, forced evacuations and left one person injured in the community of Rancho Bernardo on Wednesday.
The blaze erupted shortly before 9 a.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Bernardo Center Drive and Camino Del Norte, west of Interstate 15, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department (SDFD).
Police cleared people out of surrounding neighborhoods and advised those in areas farther from the burn area to remain indoors until further notice.
The evacuation order was issued for an area just west of Interstate 15, with areas to the west of that under an evacuation warning.
Evacuees were taken to a parking lot at 12080 Carmel Mountain Road in the Carmel Mountain Ranch neighborhood, according to the SDFD….
