A severe winter storm continued to hit much of the Midwest and East Coast of the United States on Jan. 6, dropping as much as a foot of snow on the Mid-Atlantic coast, including the Washington metro area.
The National Weather Service’s Weather Prediction Center (WPC) announced that a major winter storm will make its way eastward from the Ohio Valley toward the Mid-Atlantic coast throughout the day, producing six to 12 inches of heavy snow across the coastal region.
An additional two to four inches is expected in the valley and the Central Appalachian Mountains.
