President-elect Donald Trump on Dec. 31 said he plans to attend the funeral of late President Jimmy Carter.
“I’ll be there. We were invited,” Trump told reporters at Mar-a-Lago in Florida.
Carter died at age 100 on Dec. 29. The Georgia native was the president of the United States from 1977 to 1981.
Carter’s funeral is scheduled to begin on Jan. 4, starting in Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, Georgia. A series of events will culminate with his burial in his hometown of Plains, Georgia, five days later.
