Άιο Εντεμπίρι

H βραβευμένη με Emmy και Χρυσή Σφαίρα Άιο Εντεμπίρι (Ayo Edebiri), θα γράψει το σενάριο για την επερχόμενη live-action ταινία του Barney. Παράλληλα, υπάρχουν συζητήσεις για να πρωταγωνιστήσει στην φιλόδοξη παραγωγή.

Η ταινία που ανακοινώθηκε για πρώτη φορά το 2019, βρίσκεται υπό ανάπτυξη και παραγωγή της A24 με την εταιρεία 59% Productions του Ντάνιελ Καλούγια (Daniel Kaluuya), σε συνεργασία με την Mattel Films που έχει τα δικαιώματα.

Αν και ο Καλούγια είναι ο κύριος παραγωγός της ταινίας, πηγές αναφέρουν στο Variety ότι δεν θα πρωταγωνιστήσει μαζί με την Εντεμπίρι. Οι λεπτομέρειες της πλοκής παραμένουν μυστικές.

Ο Ρόμπι Μπρένερ (Robbie Brenner) θα είναι παραγωγός της Mattel Films και της A24.

Το «Barney & Friends» με πρωταγωνιστή έναν μωβ Τυραννόσαυρο Rex, ήταν μια εξαιρετικά δημοφιλής παιδική σειρά που έκανε πρεμιέρα το 1988 και προβλήθηκε για 14 σεζόν στο PBS, πριν ολοκληρωθεί τον Νοέμβριο του 2010.
