The Costco Wholesale Corporation and the Teamsters union have reached a tentative agreement to avert a worker strike, according to the union.
Costco Teamsters union members said last month they had voted overwhelmingly in favor of a nationwide strike after Jan. 31, if the company didn’t agree to a new employment contract that “reflects the company’s record-breaking profits.”
In a statement shared on social media early on Feb. 1, the Teamsters union announced the Costco Teamsters members had reached a tentative set of terms with the wholesale retail company.
“Additional details will be shared soon. The tentative agreement will be presented to the membership for a vote. Stay tuned,” the union press statement read….
