Federal and local authorities are investigating a fire that damaged the headquarters of the New Mexico Republican Party in Albuquerque on March 30.
Agents working with local authorities recovered unspecified “incendiary materials” at the scene, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) spokesperson Cody Monday said. He declined to say what the materials were or to share further details.
Albuquerque Fire Rescue said it was on the scene with teams from the ATF and the FBI.
Firefighters responded just before 6 a.m. on Sunday and brought the fire under control within five minutes of their arrival, the fire department said.
