Gang Leader and Entertainment CEO Charged in Complaint Alleging Racketeering Crimes

The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced the arrest yesterday of a South Los Angeles gang leader accused of running an organized criminal enterprise while masquerading as a community activist and entertainment entrepreneur.
Eugene Henley Jr., 58, was charged with conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, the Central District of California U.S. Attorney’s office said.
Also known as Big U, Henley lived in the Hyde Park neighborhood, which is adjacent to Inglewood, and was the head of the so-called Rollin’ 60s Neighborhood Crips street gang.
“The RICO charges against Mr. Henley and his associates reflect a pattern of crimes that runs the gamut from extortion to tax evasion, all under the umbrella of a well-organized criminal organization led by Mr. Henley,” IRS Criminal Investigation and Special Agent in Charge Tyler Hatcher said in a statement….
