Judge Dismisses Criminal Case Against Eric Adams

NEW YORK CITY–A federal judge has permanently dismissed Mayor Eric Adams’s corruption case, following the Department of Justice’s (DOJ’s) Feb. 10 order to drop the case.
The case was dismissed with prejudice, which means that these charges cannot be brought again, and the matter is fully resolved.
Judge Dale Ho’s decision frees Adams to concentrate on the upcoming Democratic primary for the mayorship in June.
The decision to dismiss with prejudice was against the suggestion of the DOJ, which suggested the case should be dismissed without prejudice, recommending the case be continued after the mayoral elections.
