Canadian Fugitive Returned to Canada After 3-Year Global Search: Vancouver Police

One of Canada’s most wanted fugitives has been returned home after a three-year international manhunt that spanned 14 countries.
The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) said it had arrested and charged Cody Casey with drug crimes, including trafficking fentanyl, in 2020. However, while he was out on bail, he fled the country.
Casey was caught in Oman in October 2024 by Royal Oman Police and was returned to Canada on April 24. He appeared in a B.C. provincial court and remains in custody, according to VPD.
“Cody Casey was arrested in the summer of 2020. He was released on bail by the courts with a number of conditions, including house arrest and having to wear an electronic monitoring bracelet,” Const. Jason Doucette said in an October 2022 VPD news release….
