At least 31 people are dead after India fired missiles today into several areas of Pakistan-controlled territory. India says its attacks aimed to “preempt” and “deter” cross-border terror attacks. This after a massacre of Hindu tourists in Indian Kashmir last month. Pakistan has dismissed India’s allegations of harboring terrorist camps as unfounded. Meanwhile, a leader of a UN-designated terrorist group reported that ten of his family members were killed in the attacks.
President Donald Trump participates in the swearing-in ceremony of David Perdue to be the U.S. Ambassador to China. Perdue is a one-time Senator from Georgia, and a former Fortune 500 CEO and China critic who had lived in Hong Kong during his 40-year business career.
