Six men and one youth are facing charges in connection with a series of luring incidents and targeted assaults associated with online dating apps, Calgary Police say.
The investigation began on March 14 after officers responded to reports of a man who claimed he was assaulted by a group of unknown assailants, police said in a press release.
Investigators said the man had arranged to meet someone through an online dating app. After arriving at the meet-up location, the man was assaulted with a baseball bat and a replica firearm by four individuals. The suspects also slashed the interior and tires of the man’s vehicle before fleeing the scene, police said….
