A man charged with stalking rapper Eminem and breaking into his home has been found guilty on two counts.
Matthew David Hughes, 32, was convicted on May 7 in Macomb County Circuit Court in Michigan on first-degree home invasion and aggravated stalking.
Eminem, whose real name is Marshall Mathers, testified during the trial that began on May 6, with the jury quickly deliberating and returning with the guilty verdict.
Hughes was arrested last year after trespassing onto the rapper’s property in Clinton Township, a suburb north of Detroit. He fled the scene and was apprehended days later at a local Walmart.
According to court records, bail was set at $500,000, which Hughes failed to post, and he has remained in jail since the arrest. He was ordered to have no contact with the victim….
