More Than 16,000 Children’s Jewelry Items Recalled Over Excessive Lead: Health Canada

Thousands of kids’ jewelry items have been recalled by Health Canada due to excessive levels of lead. Consumers are advised to immediately dispose of two specific pieces of jewelry sold on Amazon.ca, which were made in China.
The first recall is for Dckazz Stitch and Scrump Best Friends Necklace. The pair of necklaces with metallic blue and pink pendants are sold together in a plastic bag that has serial number X004D46BNP. Health Canada has determined that these necklaces contain lead in excess of allowable limits. 
“Under the Children’s Jewellery Regulations of the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act, it is illegal to import, advertise or sell jewellery items that appeal primarily to children under 15 years of age and contain more than 90 mg/kg total lead,” Health Canada said….
