Police Issue ‘Shelter in Place’ Alert in Southern Ontario After Pickering Woman Killed

A woman has died following an assault in Pickering, Ont., prompting police to urge residents to stay indoors while the suspect remains at large.
Durham Regional Police issued an alert on the afternoon of May 29, reporting that a woman had been assaulted and that there was a heavy police presence in the area of Fairport Road and Lynn Heights Drive in Pickering.
The police said the woman was taken to a trauma centre, where she died shortly after.
