Pumpkin Seeds Sold in Ontario Recalled Over Possible Salmonella Contamination

Several types of pumpkin seeds sold in Ontario have been recalled over possible salmonella contamination, with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) saying the recall could expand to include additional products.
The recall, issued on May 12, expands the CFIA’s initial recall of pumpkin seeds issued on May 7.
The recall expansion includes 250 gram packages of Orasta brand Organic Pumpkin Seeds, with the universal product code (UPC) 7 28795 59321 6. The seeds were sold from April 17, 2025, to May 10, 2025, at Fiesta Farms grocery store in Toronto.
The recall also includes Fine Goods Wholesome brand product Raw European Pumpkin Seeds Organic, sold from April 24, 2025, to May 6, 2025, at grocer The Sweet Potato in Toronto. UPC numbers of the impacted packages starts with 0205069….
