President Donald Trump announced on May 6 that he has appointed Andrew Giuliani, the son of former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, as executive director of the president’s task force on the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The president also announced that Carlos Cordeiro will serve as a senior adviser to the task force. He is currently a senior adviser to FIFA and was president of the United States Soccer Federation, where he played a major role in securing the United States as a host of the 2026 tournament alongside Canada and Mexico.
