Alberta has signed an agreement to minimize inspection stops at weigh stations for select oilfield service rigs.
The province has established an updated agreement with the Canadian Association of Energy Contractors (CAOEC) that will now allow select oilfield service rigs to bypass repeated inspection stations, Alberta Transportation Minister Devin Dreeshen announced at a press conference on June 5.
“This agreement helps keep Alberta’s roads safe, while making it easier for oil well drilling service rigs to spend more time in the field and less time dealing with administrative burdens,” Dreeshen said, adding that the revitalized agreement strengthens the province’s energy sector and supports the government’s “commitment of reducing red tape.”…
