‘My Instinct Just Told Me to Pack Up’: Evacuees Displaced by Wildfire in Prairie Provinces

Tens of thousands of residents have evacuated their homes in Canada’s prairie provinces due to numerous wildfires. A state of emergency has been declared in Saskatchewan and Manitoba, and crews are working to contain the fires. Wildfires are also sweeping across parts of Alberta.
Mike Hancheroff from northern Saskatchewan’s La Ronge community, where an evacuation order was issued on June 2, said the wildfire spread quickly toward the area that day, prompting him to leave before it was too late.
“At the beginning of the day it was beautiful blue skies. By about afternoon you could really see a dark cloud coming, and it was coming really fast. The winds were insane,” Hancheroff told The Epoch Times….
