Wife of Senator Injured in Minnesota Shooting Speaks Out: ‘Lucky to Be Alive’

The wife of a Minnesota lawmaker injured in a targeted shooting shared an update over the weekend.
“We are both incredibly lucky to be alive,” Yvette Hoffman, wife of state Sen. John Hoffman, told U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) in a June 15 text message that Klobuchar posted on Facebook.
A shooter went to the Hoffman home early Saturday and shot both John Hoffman and his wife in an act of targeted political violence, according to authorities. A suspect, identified as Vance Boelter, was taken into custody on Sunday.
