Alberta Creates Action Team to Address Aggression, Complexity in Classrooms

Alberta is launching an action team this summer to address increasing aggression and complex needs in classrooms, the province’s education minister has announced.
The Aggression and Complexity in Schools Action Team will be composed of teachers and education partners who will provide Alberta with recommendations on short- and long-term actions to support both students and educators, the government says.
“We have heard loud and clear from teachers and parents that we need to do something about aggression in classrooms, and that is exactly what we are doing,” Education Minister Demetrios Nicolaides said in a June 30 statement. “Every student and staff member deserves to feel safe, supported and respected at school, and the action team will help reach that goal.”…
