Canada’s auditor general has confirmed her office will be conducting an audit of Canada’s international student program, which has been awash in allegations of misuse and fraudulent applications.
Canada’s international student program was capped last year by the Trudeau government as concerns and criticisms over rising rental prices, visa fraud, and high immigration levels mounted. However, the scope of the upcoming audit remains unclear.
In a statement to The Epoch Times, a spokesperson for auditor general Karen Hogan said her office “anticipates tabling the report in Parliament in 2026,” but added that “as the audit is still in the planning phase, providing information on scope and timelines is premature.” …
