Cheese Recalled in 2 Canadian Provinces Over Listeria Contamination

Concerns over possible listeria contamination have led to the expanded recall of British Columbia-made cheese in two Canadian provinces.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has issued a Class I recall for Mount Becher Buffalo Medium Cheese to include various sizes sold in both B.C. and Ontario.
Class I represents the most severe category among all recall classifications, signifying a significant risk that the consumption of the food could result in serious health issues or even death.
The recalled cheeses, which are produced by Natural Pastures Cheese Company Ltd., were sold with lot number 854 179, the July 21 advisory said.
