A swath of thunderstorms is expected to bring heavy rain and the threat of flash-flooding to the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states on Thursday and Friday.
According to a map and data released by the National Weather Service’s (NWS’s) Weather Prediction Center, a Level 3 out of 4 risk for excessive rainfall from northeastern Virginia to New Jersey was forecast for Thursday. That includes cities including New York City, Philadelphia, Washington, Baltimore, and Newark in New Jersey.
There is a Level 2 out of 4 risk for a wider area across the East Coast, from parts of Virginia to Rhode Island and Massachusetts, the map shows….
