A tsunami sent waves into Russia, Japan, Hawaii and the West Coast of the United States after an 8.8-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of the Russian Far East early Wednesday. Hawaii downgraded tsunami warnings and lifted evacuation orders across the state while leaving a tsunami advisory in place.
President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social that he will impose a 25% tariff on goods from India, plus an additional import tax. He cites India’s tariffs, non-monetary trade barriers, and the decision to buy Russian energy during the Russia-Ukraine war as reasons for the new tariff rates.
