‘Horsepower, Heritage, and Family-Friendly Fun’: Key Events at This Year’s Calgary Stampede

The Calgary Stampede kicks off this week, launching 10 days of rodeo competitions, historical exhibits, farming showcases, and a wide range of family-friendly activities.
The 113th Calgary Stampede will begin on July 4 with its iconic parade, featuring over 110 entries along a five-kilometre route through downtown. The lineup will include 35 floats, nine marching bands, and more than 700 horses.
Shortly after the parade, the Stampede will offer free admission to the grounds until the early afternoon, with additional free admission windows available throughout the 10-day event for children, seniors, and military veterans.

The traditional free Stampede breakfasts will also begin across the city, with Calgary’s largest mall, Chinook Centre, aiming to set a Guinness World Record this weekend for the most pancakes served at a single breakfast….
