Grammy-winning singer Shakira performed in San Antonio over the weekend, donating a portion of the concert’s proceeds to those affected by the deadly floodwaters that ravaged the Texas Hill Country region.
“Dear San Antonio, Our hearts and prayers are with those affected by the flood in Central Texas,” the 48-year-old pop star wrote on X ahead of her performance on July 5 at the Alamodome.
The “Whenever, Wherever” singer, who hails from Barranquilla, Colombia, said part of the show’s proceeds would go to Catholic Charities, Archdiocese of San Antonio, a nonprofit and religious organization serving the local area.
