WASHINGTON—President Donald Trump is calling on House Republicans to accept the Senate’s version of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which was passed after a 24-hour all-night session on July 1.
Several Republicans in the House, particularly members of the House Freedom Caucus, have expressed reservations about the Senate’s version of the bill, which they say will increase spending beyond thresholds set in deals made to pass the House version of the bill in May.
“The Senate’s version adds $651 billion to the deficit — and that’s before interest costs, which nearly double the total … The Senate must make major changes and should at least be in the ballpark of compliance with the agreed upon House budget framework,” wrote the caucus on social media over the weekend….
