City of Calgary to Add 120 Electric Buses to Transit Fleet

The City of Calgary says it will add 120 electric transit buses to its fleet to lower operating costs and reduce pollution.
Calgary made the announcement on Aug. 8, saying the vehicles would start arriving in 2027, with the entire fleet expected to be on the road by 2028.
Director of Calgary Transit Sharon Fleming said it was a “cost-effective way” to grow its fleet.
“This investment means more reliable service, lower operating costs over time and cleaner air in our communities,” Fleming said.
The city said it was given federal money for the purchase.
Ottawa announced it was giving $325 million to “support the electrification” of Calgary’s transit buses in 2023. That was on top of $165 million Calgary secured from the Canada Infrastructure Bank….
