The federal court system said on Aug. 7 that it was working to protect sensitive case documents amid a set of escalated cyberattacks impacting the judiciary’s electronic case management system.
While the vast majority of court documents are available to the public, some are sealed and contain confidential or proprietary information.
“These sensitive documents can be targets of interest to a range of threat actors,” the U.S. Courts system said in a press release on its website. “To better protect them, courts have been implementing more rigorous procedures to restrict access to sensitive documents under carefully controlled and monitored circumstances.”…
