Niagara Regional Police say there is no longer any threat to public safety after apprehending a suspect during a search for an armed man in West Lincoln, Ont.
Police arrested a male suspect on the morning of Sept. 8, bringing an end to a shelter-in-place request for the residents of West Lincoln, a township in the Niagara Region.
There is “no ongoing threat to public safety,” police said in a 10:30 a.m. social media update, noting that the man was in custody and officers remain in the area.
Niagara police first released a public alert on Sept. 8 shortly after 9 a.m. about an armed 38-year-old man thought to be operating a white 2009 Ford Ranger in the vicinity of Concession Road 2 and Centre Road in West Lincoln. …
