Carlos Alcaraz won the U.S. Open men’s final on Sept. 7, in a match attended by President Donald Trump, with a 6–2, 3–6, 6–1, 6–4 victory.
Alcaraz, 22, has now clinched his sixth major trophy of his career and second of the year, following the French Open. The Spaniard took home his first Grand Slam title in New York in 2022 while in his teens after he defeated Sinner in the quarter-finals.
Sinner, 24, was trying to become the first repeat men’s champion at Flushing Meadows since Roger Federer took home five championships in a row between 2004 and 2008.
Despite their relatively young ages, both men have already established a notable rivalry….
