University of Alberta Professor on Non-Disciplinary Leave Following Online Comments About Kirk’s Death

A professor from the University of Alberta law department has been put on non-disciplinary leave over “concerning online comments” in connection with the shooting death of U.S. conservative influencer Charlie Kirk.
The university says it is reviewing online comments including those in reaction to the professor’s comments to ensure safety within the university community.
Kirk was shot while holding a speaking event at the Utah Valley University campus on Sept. 10. He was the co-founder of Turning Point USA, a conservative student organization.
The university has not identified the professor, nor what the online comments that sparked the issue were. A university spokesperson said details are being withheld due to privacy and safety concerns….
