Virginia, Boston to Hold Elections Tuesday; Russian Bomb Attack Kills at Least 20 People in Eastern Ukraine

Voters in Virginia will choose a successor to the late Democratic Rep. Gerry Connolly of the 11th Congressional District in a special election on Tuesday. Democrat James Walkinshaw is going up against Republican Stewart Whitson.
Boston residents are also heading to the polls to vote for the city’s next mayor. Incumbent Mayor Michelle Wu and nonprofit leader Josh Kraft, son of Patriots owner Robert Kraft, are expected to be the two main contenders in Tuesday’s preliminary election. Voters will then decide in November between the top two candidates.
A Russian glide bomb struck a village in eastern Ukraine as people lined up outside to receive their pensions on Tuesday, killing at least 21 and wounding nearly two dozen others, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and a regional official said.
