LOS ANGELES—Federal and state officials announced charges on Oct. 7 against suspected members and associates of an “extremely violent” street gang in the Los Angeles Harbor area who allegedly trafficked large quantities of narcotics and funneled profits to imprisoned gang leaders.
The takedown resulted in the arrests of 13 of the 19 people charged in the case, including eight of 14 individuals charged in a federal criminal complaint, as well as five defendants who are facing state charges by the Los Angeles County District Attorney.
