Raw dog treats from an Alberta company have been recalled across Canada after being tied to an ongoing salmonella outbreak.
An investigation by the Public Health Agency of Canada determined four types of raw pet treat products from the Puppy Love and Puppy World brands contain Salmonella Oranienburg, a bacteria that causes the foodborne illness salmonellosis.
The recall was initiated to prevent illness among dogs and their owners due to the risk of “cross contamination and illness after handling the pet treats,” the agency said in a recall notice this week.
The recall includes Puppy Love Beef Chews, Chicken Breast Treats, Chicken Wing Tip Treats and Puppy World Lamb Lung Treats in various sizes. A list of the recalled products is available here. …
