Former FBI Director Comey to Make First Court Appearance; Hostage, Prisoner Lists Exchanged for Gaza Peace Plan, Hamas Says

Former FBI Director James Comey is set to make his first court appearance on Wednesday in a Department of Justice criminal case accusing him of lying to Congress in 2020. The two-count indictment alleges that Comey made a false statement to the Senate Judiciary Committee on Sept. 30, 2020, by denying he had authorized an associate to serve as an anonymous source to the news media, and that he obstructed a congressional proceeding. Comey has denied any wrongdoing.
As the indirect peace talks on Gaza between Israeli and Hamas officials continue in Egypt, the terrorist group said on Oct. 8 that lists of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners to be released under a swap deal have been exchanged. A U.S. delegation, including special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner—President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and his former Middle East envoy—will join the talks in Egypt on Wednesday….
