One of Canada’s most wanted fugitives, Pierry Philogène, has been taken into custody in Vancouver just days after being ranked No. 6 on the nation’s top 25 “most wanted” list.
Philogène was arrested on Oct. 14 just outside Vancouver in Surrey, B.C., by the Metro Vancouver Transit Police, after remaining at large for nearly four years.
Philogène was wanted by Montreal police for first-degree murder and is also suspected of having links to organized crime.
Transit Police Crime Suppression Team members were able to apprehend Philogène with assistance from Vancouver police officers after a brief foot chase, the police service said in an Oct. 15 press release. The 39-year-old suspect remains in custody….
