A Quebec minister has resigned amid an uproar over a recently passed law that imposes a new payment system on the province’s doctors.
Social Services Minister Lionel Carmant announced his resignation from the governing party this morning, accompanied by Premier François Legault.
Carmant’s daughter, a physician, has published an open letter criticizing the new law, which ties part of doctors’ remuneration to performance targets.
