Strong demand among potential homebuyers and built up inventory could pave the way for a sales rebound in 2026 after a roller-coaster year plagued by economic uncertainty.
Re/Max Canada released its 2026 housing market outlook on Wednesday, projecting national home sales to increase 3.4 percent next year.
“There is light at the end of the tunnel following a decline in home sales from coast to coast in 2025,” it said in a news release.
The forecast comes as a Leger survey commissioned by Re/Max said one in 10 Canadians plan to buy a home in the next 12 months, half of them for the first time. That’s up from seven percent in the fall….
