Some Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) participants have begun to receive food stamps for November, according to state officials.
Officials in California, North Carolina, Oregon, and Wisconsin said that some recipients have received partial or full benefits for the month.
“Partial benefits were distributed today, Nov. 7. Beneficiaries should check the balances on their cards,” the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services said on its website.
The updates came after a federal judge ordered the federal government to pay in full for November benefits amid the government shutdown. Following a previous order, the Trump administration had been working with states to send out partial payments, but officials had said that it could take weeks or even months for people to see the benefits on their electronic cards….
